Overig
Daisy is an alert and anxious dog that requires special understanding from her future owners. She appreciates space and time to get used to new people, preferring to approach them on her terms. Similarly, she can become overwhelmed in unfamiliar surroundings, which means she needs to have a gradual introductions to prevent stress.
Daisy experiences separation anxiety when left alone, a behavior we're currently actively working on with the help of a dog behaviorist. It's important that her new family is ready to pick up on the training and invest time in it.
We are leaving in the city, but believe that Daisy will be happier in a home close to nature, far from noises and fuss of a big city. Ideally, we're looking for a place in the countryside with a large garden or fenced territory where Daisy can roam freely and safely. A home with another dog companion we think would be beneficial for her, however since she hasn't lived with another dog. Daisy has always been kind to all the children we met, but she is not used to living with children. An environment with very small children can unsettle her, so we think older children could be better.
Despite her vibrant personality, Daisy's alertness and sensitivity to her surroundings have made city life challenging for her. While she enjoys outdoor activities, she can easily become anxious in busy urban environments, such as when passing bikes or encountering crowds. As responsible pet owners, we've come to the conclusion that Daisy's best interests lie in finding a home outside the hustle and bustle of the city, where she can thrive in a more relaxed environment.
She is a healthy and intelligent dog, completed her puppy training and is currently attending obedience classes, where she excels in learning new commands. She's incredibly smart and responds well to training, although she can be easily distracted outside the home due to her curious nature. Despite her initial caution around new people, Daisy is friendly and playful with other dogs.
